QANTAS

Quite a nice trip, all survived.
That was how, years (decades) ago, when the fly was a student in the UK, fellow students undertaking the then new degree of Transport Management and Planning rated the experience of travelling with QANTAS.  That was an accolade in their scale (BOAC was Better on a Camel) and SABENA (Belgian airline) was Such a bloody experience never again.  Even if an accolade, it was harsh on the flying kangaroo in those times, but probably just about right for what we get now.
We were not late leaving or arriving, (tick) which cannot be said of the last five occasions fly has flown with QANTAS.
Some of us were irritated by the mal-functioning of the in-flight entertainment system, which led to all of us having viewing interrupted twice, for 20 minutes each time, for system re-boots.  (cross)
Staff pleasant and efficient (tick)
Food - utterly bland (cross)
Wine -not a bad chardonnay, and a little perforated peel-off square on the label so it can be tracked down again. Sadly, no SB. (tick) (cross)
Fly has referred previously to weighty matters.  This was a good trip weight and space wise.  A window seat, so elbow room on the left, and on my right a string bean Montana lad returning after a holiday on the Sunshine Coast.  He grazed throughout the flight, having brought supplementary food in his backpack.  After de-planing here in LA, he was off to pick up his truck and drive 1400 miles back home to Montana.
